Richard Werner Programs: Latrobe Valley U3A Program Tuesdays 11:00 to12:00 noon (March to October) Slightly Classical on Sundays from 10:00 until 12:00 noon
Length of time in radio: About 7 years
Reason for getting in to radio?: Can't remember exactly. Probably to acquire another skill later in life.
Personal Likes: Solitude. I subscribe to the theory that if you don't like me then leave me alone. Happy, sincere people and abhor the disingenuous types.
Personal dislikes: Not many. Don't like Capsicums (or they don't like me) Crowds. Football. Flying - although I've done a lot of it. Boastful People. Organised religion.
Favourite Music: Light Classical music although like most music except the latest which passes as music. We can't whistle or hum too many modern popular music. Used to play the guitar a bit and piano but not very well.
Hobbies: Mucking around with computers. Reading. Used to do Cross Stitch embroidery but don't seem to have the time these days. Also poker work used to be a hobby but don't seem to have any time for that either. Researching family history is another interest. Haven't found any millionaires amongst forebears - yet.
Brief Bio: Born at a very early age. Been around for a few years. Done lots of things. Lived in many places both here and overseas. Last move was from Queensland in 1995. Like the Latrobe Valley and the people here. Am actively involved with Latrobe Valley U3A (University of the Third Age) http://www.lvu3a.org.au and enjoy the association.
What else about me?: There isn't much. I think I see myself as a quiet and unassuming sort of bloke, and, as I get older, find that I’ve never really worried greatly what people thought of me. What is important is what you think of yourself. You cannot govern your life by what you fear others may think of you. That gives them control over you. If what you are doing is what you believe to be right, they will have to think as they please. Generally, people see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear and believe what they want to believe. |
